I studied here for 3 years after passing the entrance exam. One of my favourite subjects, oast houses, has such a variety of shades and colour, I especially like the field of buttercups (painted with yellow gouache).
I painted the watercolour of Leigh on Sea during one of our tutored classes with Frederick.
The Finchingfield scene is my own photo reference; I find it such a lovely local landscape.
These two paintings were framed behind glass, hence reflection of the camera flash, but I think it looks quite good on the ship.
